11th Summer Festival Cantus Salisburgensis
July 5th - 9th 2012 

for choirs, orchestras and folk dancers Salzburg, Austria

Compulsory pieces:

Festival concert: Halleluja from Messiah, G.F. Handel and
Choral Fantasy Op. 80, L.v. Beethoven

Festival mass:
Missa Solemnis, W.A. Mozart, KV 337


1st day: Thursday - Ecumenical service

Arrival in Salzburg. Check - Into your accommodation.

Evening rehearsal of Sunday morning mass under the direction of the music director of
Salzburg cathedral -Prof. Janos Czifra.

Afterwards meeting of all participants for a dinner (Ice-water is free. All other beverages have to be paid.) Organisational meeting of the conductors. Please come with your organisation assistant, but not more than 3 persons

2nd day: Friday - Concert of the Nations - Mozarteum Great Hall

Breakfast.

Morning and afternoon rehearsals of the individual groups for the evening concert.

Each group is requested to prepare a program of secular or folk music of not more
than 12 minutes. Compulsory pieces will be sung by all at the beginning and at the  end of the concert.

Built 1910-1914 by Richard Berndl for the "Internationale Stiftung Mozarteum" [International Mozarteum Foundation]. The complex contains two concert halls, the "Bibliotheca Mozartiana" library, administrative rooms, and class rooms used by the "Universität Mozarteum". "Großer Saal" [Large Hall] with 807 seats.

Dinner at accommodation or at a local restaurant.


Evening concert  - end approx. at 10.30 pm

Please note: City tour with English speaking licensed guide will be organised accordingly to your rehearsal time for the festival concert.

3rd day: Saturday - Individual concert Ferdinand Porsche hall

Breakfast.

Transfer to Zell am See - Explore the village on your own.
Individual concert in the Ferdinand Porsche hall
Duration: 40 minutes

Dinner in a local restaurant

Transfer back to Salzburg, to your accommodation

4th day: Sunday - High Mass Salzburg Cathedral 

Breakfast.

9 am: Warm up
10 am: Festival mass for the CANTUS SALISBURGENSIS Salzburg Cathedral

Afternoon: Explore the world of the "white gold" at Salzburg's Salt mines
Evening: the CANTUS SALISBURGENSIS Ceremony fare well party

b)      Professional Photo from your concert at Mozarteum
c)      Surprises
d)      Dinner & Austrian folklore (music and dancing)
e)      You are invited to show some folklore music or dancing

End approx. 11 pm.

5th day: Monday - Departure
